Pegin (Peginterferon alfa-2a), generic Pegasys is a prescription medicine used to treat chronic hepatitis B and C by reducing virus levels and boosting the immune response. Peginterferon alfa-2a uncertain if it can cure these infections or prevent virus spread. Peginterferon alfa-2a is given by injection into under the skin in the thigh, abdomen, or upper arm as directed by your doctor, usually once every week.
